Your Way Bristol becomes accredited Living Wage employer

Bristol-based support agency Your Way Bristol is celebrating being named an accredited Living Wage employer.

The recognition is the latest major step forward for the agency, which supports vulnerable people in Bristol to live their lives in the way they wish and has come a long way since its 2009 establishment.

It also constitutes a proud moment for founder and manager, Josh Doherty, who founded the agency 13 years ago.

Doherty said: “Your Way Bristol came about when a group of adults with learning difficulties were unhappy with the care and support that they were receiving.

“After having identified direct payments as a solution to help these people pay for their care and choose their support workers, Your Way Bristol was born.

“The ethos of how we started is still at the very heart of our support today, namely the principles of ‘choice and control’. Today, we continue to support local vulnerable people to be able to live independently by helping them access direct payments which enable them to receive the support they want.

"We’re proud to now be making a commitment to our loyal employees by being recognised as a Living Wage employer. We believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
