St. Dominic’s Sixth Form judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted

St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College based in Harrow on the Hill, Middlesex, has received an ‘Outstanding’ outcome in its first Ofsted inspection since April 2008.

The college, which caters for pupils aged between 16 and 18, has retained its status of being outstanding across all areas, and its leadership was credited with responding very effectively to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing disruption to learning.

The outcome of this latest Ofsted inspection comes as a source of immense pride for principal, Andrew Parkin (pictured, right), who has overseen a continual period of excellence within the college. Under his headship, St. Dominic’s had already been named Sixth Form College of the Year 2017 by the Sunday Times and was deemed to be outstanding in all areas by the Archdiocese of Westminster in 2019, when it became the first catholic sixth form college nationally to be inspected under the new Section 48 framework.

Commenting on the outcome of the inspection, Parkin said: “Finally, after almost 15 years of waiting, St. Dominic's Sixth Form College was inspected by Ofsted in May of this year and we are pleased to announce that we were judged to be a ‘Grade 1, Outstanding’ institution in all areas.

“This is a tremendous achievement and very good news for our students, staff and the college. A fantastic end to what has been an amazing academic year.”

Everybody at The Leaders Council would like to congratulate St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College on the outcome of the inspection. The full Ofsted inspection of May 2022 can be read here.
