Hertfordshire-based law firm Fosters Legal has continued to develop its reputation in recent years, with its award-winning team of lawyers retaining their focus on supporting low income clients within the community.
Managing partner and founder Sandra Foster continues to take a hands-on approach at the firm, 12 years after starting out, functioning mainly as the supervisor within the family law department.
She is supported by a team of experts in the field, including head of employment law Amanda Tandi, solicitor consultant (immigration department) Rizwan Saleem, and solicitor consultant (wills department) Alan Mann.
Sandra's focus is simple, as she told The Parliamentary Review: "In our view many companies and firms could do more, wherever they are, to help the poorest and most vulnerable in our society.”
With offices in Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage, Fosters Legal specialises in all areas of children and family law, including matrimonial matters, cohabitation (including pre- and post-nuptial agreements), child-welfare, child arrangement orders, domestic abuse, court orders, local authority and section twenty voluntary procedures, drafting consent orders after agreement through mediation or between parties, referral to mediation services, arranging legal representation (Bar Licensed Access) and checking legal documents before submission in court.
The firm has helped and supported a lot of diverse people on low income and benefits in the community, with a particular focus on those who had qualified for legal aid in the past but are no longer able to gain representation.
The firm has arranged a financial package for clients, especially those on benefits or in a difficult situation, subject to an assessment of their circumstances.
In 2016, Fosters Legal was named as a National Business Leaders, the result of its work to support the local community.
The firm was awarded its prize at the House Commons, with Sandra named "Child and Family Lawyer of the Year" by Lawyer Monthly at the 2017 Women in Law Awards.
