The Home Management Company

Susan Hughes-Thomas is the founder and director of The Home Management Company, a residential letting and property management company which was incorporated in 1991. Susan is also a former president of the Association of Residential Letting Agents [ARLA].

Career Overview

As well as being well-versed in the property industry, Susan is also a qualified nurse having trained at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and worked as a ward sister between 1970 and 1975. Whole there, she specialised in caring for babies with congenital heart disease.

Susan then spent a number of years overseas, and the troublesome experience of letting out her UK home while gone empowered her to establish The Home Management Co. Although not incorporated until 1991, its foundation came in 1986, with its first tenancy being agreed later that year.

Since then, the property lettings agency has become established from its base in Bushey, Hertfordshire, providing a professional service. She has also engaged herself in professional public speaking, with some such endeavours taking her across the length and breadth of the UK, where she has promoted the regulation of property letting companies.

In 2009, Susan was named president elect of ARLA, serving as the president from May 2010 to May 2011.
