Sophie Pilgrim is the CEO of Kindred, an advocacy organisation in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Career Overview

Kindred works with families of children with disabilities and other additional support needs. Pilgrim has been at its helm since 2009, after spending four years as policy and campaigns manager for MS Society Scotland. Pilgrim has also previously worked with Children in Scotland, dating back to the 1990s.

In June 2020, Pilgrim appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on her career to date.

Education

Pilgrim is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, completing a BA [Hons] in Social Anthropology. During her degree studies, she conducted research into tribal Pakistan.

Between 2009 and 2011, Pilgrim chaired the Shakti Women's Aid charity,.
