Simon Thomas is an accountancy and tax specialist who is managing director and owner of both accountancy firm Ridgefield Consulting and business advisory service Kench & Co Ltd.
After cutting his teeth in the finance services industry at Midcounties Co-Operative, Simon went on to work for Ernst & Young LLP and Crowe Clark Whitehill. After his time working for both, he founded Ridgefield Consulting in 2011, which is now Oxford’s leading independent accountancy practice.

Career Overview
After cutting his teeth in the finance services industry at Midcounties Co-Operative, Simon went on to work for Ernst & Young LLP and Crowe Clark Whitehill. After his time working for both, he founded Ridgefield Consulting in 2011, which is now Oxford’s leading independent accountancy practice.
Simon has more recently sought to grow Ridgefield Consulting through acquisition of several other businesses. Alongside its main accountancy services, Ridgefield now works with a range of clients offering SEIS/EIS, R&D tax credits, EMI share schemes and grant application support.
In April 2021, Simon acquired Kench & Co, a firm that provides a comprehensive range of business advisory services to a wide range of clients from private individuals to overseas groups of companies operating in the UK.
In January 2022, Simon appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on his career to date.
