Peter Charlesworth is the Chief Executive of Oxford Medical Training, the UK’s leading provider of high-quality career development for doctors.

Peter is a registered optometrist who has worked in education and training for most of his professional life. He established his first business, Perceptive Medical Education in 2001 and went on to acquire Oxford Medical Training from its founder in 2011.

Oxford Medical Training offers non-clinical career development training for doctors, running interactive short courses every week on topics such as leadership, management, communication skills and teaching skills.

Peter is a registered optometrist who has worked in education and training for most of his professional life. He established his first business, Perceptive Medical Education in 2001 and went on to acquire Oxford Medical Training from its founder in 2011.

In May 2022, Peter appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing how the COVID19 pandemic was both a challenge and an opportunity for the business, its team of trainers and its customers.

Education

Peter attended the University of Bradford where he attained a degree in Optometry. He went on to study for his master’s at the University of Manchester, focusing on the field of Investigative Ophthalmology and Vision Science.
