Penny Howard is the headteacher at Longney CE Primary Academy, a Church of England Primary based in Longney, Gloucestershire.

Career Overview

In her role, Penny heads up a small school in a rural area of Gloucestershire with just 100 pupils on its roll. Operating under a mission statement of “Building Community, Enriching Lives”, Penny has strived to keep community at the heart of all the school’s work in her leadership. She ensures the school also attaches great importance to outdoor learning giving its rural setting, and the school has been a part of the Outdoor Play & Learning [OPAL] programme since 2016.

In March 2018, Penny guided the school as Ofsted conducted a short inspection, following which the school as adjudged to still be a “good” education provider.
