Matthew founded Abacus Financial Ltd in 2005 following a self-employed trading period, becoming an industry commentator and winning introducer contracts from local estate agents, solicitors and a friendly society. Matthew championed a new broking model in 2010 allowing for advice to be provided on direct-to-consumer mortgage deals in an era of dual-pricing by the banks. Led fourteen Advisers, one Commodities Broker and three Administrators - conducting appraisals on a one-to-one basis and delivering coaching and training. Managed all areas of compliance, including apportionment and oversight, sales management and marketing, and successfully guided the company through an FSA Treating Customers Fairly audit.
