Freddy Kelly is the CEO at Credit Kudos Ltd, the UK’s first authorised Credit Reference Agency and Open Banking provider that uses financial behaviour to measure creditworthiness.

Finding that this limited his credit options and left him with higher interest rates and restrictions, Freddy undertook research into his experience and found that he was not alone in trying to access affordable credit. He then co-founded Credit Kudos in the November of 2015 with the ambition of providing fair credit for all, using the power of Open Banking.

Career Overview

Freddy’s journey in technology and business started as early as his school years, setting up FastFrags Gameservers UK when he was 15. Having learned a great deal developing the company, from building custom server management software to dealing with customer support in the small hours. Freddy reluctantly passed on the reigns in 2007 to focus on his GCSEs. 

Before attending the University of Manchester to complete a Computer Science degree, Freddy worked briefly as a web developer for Globalgraphics Web Design and then during his studies worked as an associate web developer with Staak Ltd. 

After graduating in 2013, Freddy moved to the US working with Bitnami and TXN before both were acquired by larger firms. He returned to the UK in 2015 and found he had a thin credit file having not worked in Britain for those years.

Finding that this limited his credit options and left him with higher interest rates and restrictions, Freddy undertook research into his experience and found that he was not alone in trying to access affordable credit. He then co-founded Credit Kudos in the November of 2015 with the ambition of providing fair credit for all, using the power of Open Banking. He remains at the helm of the business today.

In February 2022, Freddy appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on his career to date.

Education

Freddy attended the University of Manchester and attained a BSc in Computer Science in 2013.
