The winners of the 2021 British Bank Awards were unveiled in July following 13 weeks of voting, with a record amount of over 90,000 individual votes cast.
First launched in 2014, the British Bank Awards are geared toward identifying the best products, hottest innovations and most trusted financial brands as chosen by the customers of financial firms. The awards are run by Smart Money People, the UK’s premier review and insight platform for financial services.
Smart Money People revealed the winners of the seventh edition of the British Bank Awards in a digital announcement on Twitter and LinkedIn on July 8. Hosted by Mana Search’s Lloyd Wahed, the online ceremony constituted a celebration of the successes of service providers in the banking arena and how they have adapted to respond to changing customer needs over the last year, which has been so heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
It was the second time in three years that WiseAlpha had secured the ‘Best Investments Provider’ accolade, following its success in the 2019 edition of the British Bank Awards.
Smart Money People chief executive, Jacqueline Dewey, commented: “The British Bank Awards 2021 has been fantastic. We have had a great mix of winners this year from companies retaining their title for another year to new entrants winning for the first time.
“We are very proud of the success of companies nominated in our new categories in 2021. The passion their customers showed in their comments are a real testament to the positive different these companies are making to the world of banking.
“Voting was incredibly close, and the competition between the companies was fierce. The British Bank Awards are a real signal to companies about how they are doing in the eyes of those who matter most, their customers. And a big thank you should go to all the customers who took the time to have their say and cast their vote.”
