The Leith Group’s Paul Kallee-Grover has been recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List as a reward for his work in strengthening the northwest’s trade links with China.

Awarded an MBE, Kallee-Grover [pictured, left] forms part of a prestigious list of recipients in this year’s list, taking pride of place alongside community leaders and stars of music, screen and sport including England footballer and goal-scorer over the weekend, Raheem Sterling.

Reacting to his inclusion on the list, Paul Kallee-Grover MBE wrote on social network, LinkedIn: “There are lots of people I must and will thank for my MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, but a special thank you is needed to Philomena Chen and Jessica Zhang who were the first to encourage me to consider exploring international trade back in 2010. It was with their insight and the support of my colleagues at the time, Keith Perry, Graham Olver and Paula Currie that I was able to embark on my export journey by attending the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.

“Fast forward 11 years and I am now the elected Chair of the Liverpool China Partnership with over a decade of trade with China under my belt, combined with export experience in North America, the Middle East, Australia and Europe gained through my time with Arup.

“I am very fortunate to be able to bring this experience to my roles as Group Planning Director at Lancashire headquartered The Leith Planning Group, and Vice President of Investor Relations at Barcelona headquartered CREA IDEA LAB. Throughout my journey the team at the Department for International Trade [DIT] have been by my side providing advice and support and I am grateful for that.”

We at The Leaders Council would like to congratulate Paul on his MBE and wish him the best of luck in his ongoing work facilitating UK trade with the Far East.
