Sophia Cheng is a communications expert with a decade of experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, who has dedicated her career to making complex issues more accessible to the public. In particular, since 2018, Sophia has focused on the climate crisis and has been actively involved in various climate change-related activities.
Sophia is the Founder of With Many Roots & the UK Co-ordinator of Climate Fresk, formerly known as Climate Collage. The organization is dedicated to empowering individuals, groups and organizations to take action on the climate crisis. Sophia leads the communications team and is responsible for creating and implementing strategies to engage and educate the public on the urgent issue of climate change. Through her involvement in Climate Fresk, Sophia has delivered training to more than 300 people across 30 countries, from remote teams to new groups of volunteers.
She is a qualified speaker and facilitator, leading groups of 100+ in online workshops and Sophia is dedicated to continuously learning and adapting her skills to better serve her audience.
Sophia is also involved in other climate change-related activities such as coordinating Cli-Fi for Beginners, a program that aims to demystify the complex science of climate change and make it more accessible to a wider audience.
She also works as a speaker, writer and mentor on the subject of Climate Change. Sophia's extensive experience in the communications field has equipped her with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively inform and educate the public on the urgent issue of climate change.
Sophia's experience in the non-profit sector extends beyond her work in the climate change movement. She is also the founder and CEO of With Many Roots, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on supporting the education and empowerment of children in underprivileged communities.
