Glamour Magazine has named Port Hotel in Eastbourne, East Sussex in its list of the 'best hotels in the UK' for those looking to enjoy a luxurious staycation that will rival the experience of heading abroad.

Chaired by Ian Douglas, founder of Phoenix Global Ltd and member of The Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, Port Hotels is a new hotel challenger brand which is focused on UK coastal towns.

The Port Hotel situated in Eastbourne is the first and to-date only hotel to be launched under the Port brand, based in a sea-facing Victorian conversion that has been restored and sits a stone’s throw from Eastbourne beach on the town’s beachfront parade. The build contains 19 guest rooms, a bar, restaurant and an outdoor terrace that is open to the public.

Credited for its beachfront and boutique interiors, Glamour Magazine credited Port in Eastbourne for its “exceptional décor”, “beachfront location” and affordability, hailing it a “special find”.

Glamour also heaped praise on Port’s “super friendly staff” and “delicious food”, describing the bar on site as “beautiful” with a “broad range” of beverages on offer.

Highlighting that the hotel was situated close to “Instagrammable spots”, the article suggested that Port was one of the driving forces behind Eastbourne’s rapid advancement into a “go-to staycation for stylish city-dwellers looking to unwind”.
