Cherwell College launches courses in AI online: special offer for AI and Innovation Summer Camp

Cherwell College has launched a special offer, making the Oxbridge College Summer Camp’s AI & Innovation Course for 15-18-year-olds available online during the summer 2022.

Course teaching is delivered by Oxford tutors and helps participants take their coding and AI skills to the next level, providing a vital opportunity for young people to hone their knowledge and become immersed in the world of technology and Artificial Intelligence.

The online version of the AI courses will run for two weeks, spanning August 22, 2022, to September 2, 2022, and consists of 20 hours of study.

Week One of the course will expose students to innovative technologies, including the blockchain data structure. They will learn how it works and how it can be built in Python, as well as examining the power of automation and offering the opportunity to build custom automation tools to complete course tasks.

The second week of the course, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, aims to give students an enhanced understanding of AI, machine learning and deep learning, offering a Silicon Valley outlook on state-of-the-art technologies.

Week Two will consist of hands-on exercises and overview sessions, to improve students’ understanding of what emerging technologies could achieve and how they could be ethically used to make a difference to everyday life.

The growing prevalence of Artificial Intelligence in today’s world commands the need for programming skills among the next generation. AI is already performing tasks in lieu of humans at a quicker pace by analysing significant amounts of data, meaning the skills acquired on the course will be important if humanity is to harness the potential of the technologies of tomorrow.

The course fee is £995 per person and to qualify for the course, applicants must be between the ages of 15-and-18 and have some programming experience. Familiarity with Python programming language is also necessary, and a screening questionnaire will need to be completed as part of the application process.

Limited places are available on the AI summer courses. Prospective participants can make enquiries and register their interest here.
