The Boundary Commission for England has revealed its revised proposals for changes to constituency boundaries, with a public consultation set to run until December 5, 2022.
The commission will then consider responses and submit its final recommendations to Parliament by July 1 next year.
The eventual outcome of the review is expected to see the number of constituencies in England increase by 10, up to 543.
The plans are intended to make Parliament fairer by giving MPs a similar number of constituents to look after.
If enacted, the Isle of Wight could be split into two constituencies, known as Isle of Wight West and Isle of Wight East. It is currently one constituency represented by Tory MP Bob Seely.
Hampshire could also see changes to its current constituency set-up, with proposals for changes including the creation of a new Fareham and Waterlooville seat, which would incorporate the areas of Portchester, Cowplain, Wickham and Denmead.
A new Hamble Valley constituency has also been touted, which would cover the areas of Botley, Bursledon, Hedge End, Hamble, Titchfield and Warsash.
Havant, Gosport, Portsmouth North, Portsmouth South, Southampton Itchen and Southampton Test are among constituencies that would remain unaltered under the plans.
Changes could also be in the pipeline in Norfolk and Suffolk, with the creation of a new Waveney Valley seat under review that could span areas of both counties if approved.
The seat would cover the Norfolk areas of Diss and Harleston, with Eye, Bungay and Wickham Market in Suffolk also included in it. This means that the new constituency would be comprised of places that lie within the existing boundaries of South Norfolk, Waveney, Suffolk Coastal, Central Suffolk and North Ipswich.
Meanwhile, Wymondham would move from being represented by the Mid Norfolk seat to South Norfolk.
The Drayton seat which is situated north-west of the city of Norwich would move to Norwich North from its current representation of Broadland, with the Broadland seat to be renamed Broadland & Fakenham.
Former prime minister Liz Truss’ South West Norfolk seat would be slightly reduced in size, with areas situated between Thetford and Attleborough moving over to Mid Norfolk.
Elsewhere, initial plans to form a new constituency spanning Suffolk and Essex have been axed. Instead, the Suffolk settlement of Haverhill and Halstead in Essex will remain part of the West Suffolk and Braintree constituencies respectively, which are currently occupied by former health secretary Matt Hancock and incumbent foreign secretary James Cleverly.
