2021 reflections: “Ground-breaking” water test brings multiple industry accolades for ADEY

ProCheck®, ADEY’s innovative digital water test, has made a major mark on industry over the previous year and seen the business accumulate a string of awards for its ground-breaking impact.

Indeed, over 2021 ProCheck was named ‘Best Business Product’ at the Housebuilder Product Awards and ‘Domestic Product of the Year’ at the HVR Awards, as well as being Highly Commended in the ‘Domestic HVAC Product of the Year’ category at the Heating & Ventilating News Awards. It was also a shortlisted finalist in the 2021 Housebuilder Awards in their ‘Product of the Year’ category.

ProCheck is a first-of-its-kind product in the industry and offers a quick, easy and cost-effective solution for heating engineers to test and monitor water quality in heating systems. It provides instant on-site results for inhibitor, corrosion and pH, and helps toward ADEY’s company creed of doing away with the problem of sludge.

Easy to use, installers only need to take a water sample from the heating system and - using the dedicated test strips supplied - scan these against a unique test card via the ADEY ProCheck App to receive instant results, including measuring for inhibitors, corrosion, and pH levels. This provides engineers with speedy, independently verifiable, lab-style water system information on site, helping to satisfy industry standards and benchmark requirements when commissioning new boilers, and meet regulatory responsibilities.

ProCheck has been recognised by the UK’s top boiler manufacturers as a best practice tool for testing water quality, and despite only being launched in late 2020, the product had recorded over 50,000 test results as of early December 2021.

Matt Webber, CEO at ADEY, commented: “We are thrilled with the success of ProCheck since its launch in late 2020.

“Poor water quality contributes to 60 per cent of boiler breakdowns, and while most boiler engineers will be clued up on the signs and symptoms of a contaminated water system, up until now there hasn’t been a quick and easy way to verify the issue.

“Many installers are now using the technology to change the way they do business, and it is allowing them to enhance service standards. It enables installers to drive compliance across all sectors as well as raising water quality standards and opening conversations with homeowners on the benefits of effective water treatment, including system cleansing and installing magnet filtration.”

Among the product’s rave reviews was a testimonial from S Payne Plumbing and Heating’s Sean Payne, who was one of the first installers to get hold of the product and hasn’t looked back since.

Payne said: “It is ground-breaking. There’s no other product on the market like it at the moment. You can see exactly what’s going on with the system in an instant and, best of all, you can also show the results to the customer to help them understand.”
