Jon Gowshall is a partner at Forresters, a firm of patent and trademark attorneys which helps clients navigate intellectual property law within the UK and abroad.
Career Overview
Jon Gowshall is a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, having qualified in 1989. By this time, he had already worked as a technical assistant at Forresters for three years. He has a background in biochemistry and is specialised in the technical fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medicine, food science and medical devices.
In his role, Jon regularly works in patents and has wide expertise in this area, including in UK litigation. He is also an expert in law and practice at the European Patent Office, particularly in opposition and appeal procedures.
He first became a partner at Forresters in 1993. He also served a five-year stint as Managing Partner between 2010 and 2015.
Jon has been a member of the EPI and CIPA Councils and sat on the EPI Professional Education Committee and CIPA Education Committee. He is a proficient public speaker and regularly turns out at events organised by the European Patent Office to deliver speeches.
