Joe Anwyll is the CEO of Radical Sportscars, a company based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, which is a world leader in the production and exporting of own design and manufactured racing cars and track cars sold to markets around the world.

Career Overview

Joe Anwyll is a highly accomplished and experienced business turnaround CEO with a specialism in the manufacturing and engineering industries. He has a proven track record of working with SMEs and multi-national companies, having been with names such as Lamb Technicon, Plaxton PLC, Swift Group, Wright Group, Swissport, Princess Yachts International, Lister Petter, Jayea Ltd, Fairline Boats and Acico Europe Holdings BV in the past.

Anwyll adopts an entrepreneurial and hands-on style to turning firms around and stabilises them by building best practice from the ground up. His work in completing business turnarounds is often done on behalf of PE houses, banks, private investors and business restructuring clients.

He joined Radical Sportscars in May 2016, which had run into significant financial strife following founder mismanagement. At the time, the company was losing £150,000 a month and had lost £7 million over the previous four years of trading.

By implementing new policies and systems that addressed the cash drain while simultaneously confronting the significant contractual and employee risks within the business, Anwyll led the business to breaking even by October 2016 without a single redundancy. He then reorganised the business to integrate key manufacturing, sales and marketing indicators into its operating structure to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Before long, the company was running in profit and expanding worldwide.

By 2021, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company enjoyed its most successful year to date, doubling its order books and announcing a string of new international dealership partners.

Education

Joe Anwyll studied at Lancaster University and attained an MSc in Engineering. He is a C.Eng. Chartered Engineer, and a fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
