Career Overview

James Adams is director at Chiltern Marble Group, one of the UK’s primary stone suppliers. Adams oversees the expert team who ensures the most experienced professionals work on each individual project.

In March 2020, James Adams appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the role it has played in his career to date.

Education

Educated in Australia, Adams attended John XXIII College in Perth, where he received a prize for the highest pupil achievement in the subject of Economics.

He went on to attend the University of Western Australia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws [LLB].

Military Career

Between 2006 and 2014, Adams served in the Australian Army as an infantry soldier in a Regional Force Surveillance Unit operational Patrol.

Move to Europe

The year 2015 saw Adams take his career from Australia to Europe, where he began work for Dr Waithe Properties GmbH, co-ordinating a diverse pan-European portfolio of projects as a primary project co-ordinator and first line legal. in 2016, he took on a second job with Italian firm Saturnia Travertini Italia Srl, a marble extraction company in southern Tuscany, where he was head of operations for all quarrying and office activity. Adams left both roles in 2017 to move to London, where he was appointed director of business development at The Ethical Stone Company Ltd. He remained in the role until 2020, when he joined The Chiltern Marble Group.

Since 2017, Adams has sat as principal of Maconda Ltd, a private management consultancy, advising clients within the construction and specialist services industry. He continues to balance the role with his work at Chiltern to date.
