Gary Gallen is the CEO and founder of rradar, a specialist litigation and commercial law firm that uses legal expertise and digital tools to proactively manage, advise, and deliver business solutions to reduce legal risk.

Career Overview

Gary founded rradar in 2012 in Hull, Yorkshire. With over 25 years of experience, Gary wanted to disrupt the sector and democratise the law, breaking down the barriers that prevent people from fairly getting expert and affordable legal representation and advice and as a consequence, founded the company.

Gary set out to create a law firm with a different approach to both its clients and staff, with innovation at its heart. In a 2019 interview with the Yorkshire Post, Gary stated that, "We work at an intersection of insurance, law, technology and teaching. Trying to get people to believe in that model was pretty difficult."

In September and January 2020, Gary appeared in a Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the role it has played in his career and how he has used those qualities to lead rradar over the decade and the plans for the continued growth of the company over the next one.

Education

Gary boasts an extensive education, holding an LLB in Law from Coventry University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law York, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Professional Skills from the University of Chester.

Gary has also studied at the Cranfield School of Management, the University of Oxford's Said Business School, and the Cambridge Judge Business School. He has also partaken in the London Stock Exchange Elite Programme and is a TEDx License Holder and Organiser.

Other work

Aside from his role as CEO of rradar, Gary is an active Eaglelabs Business Mentor for Barclays in the fields of Lawtech, Legaltech, Regtech and Insurtech. He also mentors for the NHS Innovation Accelerator Programme.

Gary counts himself as a member of The Bar Associations of New York and San Francisco in the US, and is a member of GBx Global, a group of British tech entrepreneurs committed to providing a network of mentoring, advice, investment, coaching and support for British tech businesses already established or wanting to establish themselves in the San Francisco area. He is also a member of the Tech North Advocate network, which helps promote technology, ideas, access to investment, share experience and expertise and thought leadership for entrepreneurs.

Gary is also an active member of  For Entrepreneurs Only, a regional group of invitation only like-minded entrepreneurs committed to helping other businesses grow, nurturing ideas, mentoring, coaching and helping build sustainable jobs and a vibrant regional economy through knowledge sharing.
