Ann Chapman is an accomplished international marketing and languages professional, with extensive experience as an Executive Director and Board Director for over 21 years. She has held prominent positions at renowned organisations such as International Thomson (now Thomson Reuters), Thyssen Bornemitzsa Publishing, Ziff-Davis Publishing Group (Predicasts/IAC Inc), France Telecom Group (Questel SA and Questel-Orbit UK), and Minesoft. 

Throughout her career, Ann has focused on sales and marketing development in European and Asian markets, specialising in intellectual property, patents publishing, online information retrieval, and competitive intelligence.

Career Overview

Beyond her professional achievements, Ann Chapman is an active member of various prestigious committees and organisations. She has served on the UK Patent & Trade Mark Group Management Committee for over 12 years, assuming the role of President of PatCom, where she addressed commercial issues related to public patent information provision. 

Ann also serves as the Chair of the Richmond Business Improvement District (Be Richmond), a Trustee of World Monuments Fund Britain, and a Patron of the Royal Academy of Art in London. Her interests in the history of art and architecture are evident in her involvement with these esteemed institutions. Ann is also a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturing and Commerce), further showcasing her commitment to promoting and supporting arts and manufacturing endeavours.

Under Ann's leadership, Minesoft has achieved significant recognition and accolades. The company was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the UK for outstanding achievement in international trade in 2009 and 2015. In 2014, Minesoft received the Richmond Regional Business Award for Best Exporter, presented by Vince Cable, the Minister of State for Business in the UK, and Zac Goldsmith MP. Ann herself has been honoured with several awards, including Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the Regional London Business Awards in 2018 and LegalTech Game Changer of the Year in 2019. She was also named PASSWORD (Germany) Information Professional of the Year in 2019.

As a Co-Founder of Minesoft, Ann Chapman has been instrumental in running and developing the company alongside her co-directors. Her deep involvement in international aspects of the business encompasses marketing, public relations, publisher and client relations, as well as utilising her language skills for translation, writing, and design.

Ann holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies/Economics/German, which she obtained from Bristol University in the United Kingdom and Kassel University in Germany. She has also earned certificates from the Institute of Export and the Institute of Marketing, with a specialisation in International Marketing. Ann's language proficiency has been pivotal in her career, enabling effective communication in today's global business landscape.
