Earlier this month, waste management and compliance solution specialists Stericycle commenced operations at their latest Waste Transfer Site based at Park Royal, West London.
The Park Royal site is 18,500 square feet in size and has created 40 jobs in the local area.
The facility is capable of handling up to 24 tonnes of waste per day, which is then forwarded on to one of Stericycle’s treatment plants for further processing.
Stericycle is one of largest providers of sustainable waste services and solutions to the NHS and is tipped to play a key part in the health service’s ambition to become the first health service to reach net zero carbon emissions.
Indeed, Stericycle has been working with the NHS for over 15 years to date, providing clinical waste management services to more than 60 per cent of trusts and managing waste from over 20,000 sites.
Stericycle’s commercial director, James Cardwell-Moore, told The Parliamentary Review: “It is clear that waste management has a big role to play in achieving the NHS’s ambition to become the world’s first health service to get to net zero. And no time should be wasted, as solutions and services are available now, like the ones within our business, which will not just enhance the planet but will also present significant savings, which can go towards providing vital care services.”
