Red Rock Entertainment goes carbon neutral

Film investment company Red Rock Entertainment has announced that it has been certified as a carbon neutral plus organisation by licensor Carbon Footprint Ltd.

The licensor certified the Elstree Studios-based business as carbon neutral plus in accordance with its ‘Carbon Footprint Standard’ as of September 30, 2020. Red Rock has also doubly offset its footprint by supporting Carbon Footprint’s UK tree-planting project which is geared toward protecting the UK's landscape and biodiversity, as well as the Amazon Rainforest.

Red Rock chief executive Gary Collins said: “Planting trees is a great way to cut down on carbon emissions. By contributing to this project, which plants native broad leaf species, we are helping preserve the UK’s natural environment and biodiversity and doing our bit for the planet.

“We are delighted that our contributions have been recognised to the point where we have been carbon neutral plus certified, and at a time where British industry has had time to reflect on doing business sustainably, we hope that other companies will look at their carbon footprint and gauge where they can make positive changes.”

For every tree pledged to Carbon Footprint’s UK tree-planting initiative, a tonne of carbon is saved in the Brazilian Amazon via the VCS avoided deforestation programme, helping offset carbon emissions, plant and protect forests and biodiversity across two continents.
