At the heart of the campaign is the Export Champion Community, which consists of more than 1,000 ‘Export Advocates’ and ‘Export Champions’ from everyday businesses of all shapes and sizes, run by extraordinary people from around the UK that are proudly selling overseas. Paul was a founding Export Champion in the North West of England in 2013, and in 2019 he became one of the Government’s first appointed Northern Powerhouse Export Champions. In 2018 Paul was recognised for his excellence in trade and investment overseas when he was presented with the first UK Board of Trade Award. The award celebrates those that show exceptional innovation, encourage prosperity in their local communities and champion free trade. As an export champion Paul encourages other companies to start exporting, by offering practical advice on how to turn exporting ambitions into reality, and by sharing experiences of how to break into new international markets.



















Paul is a regular speaker for the DIT on the virtues of international trade, having attended and led missions to Asia and North America. He continues to work with UK companies looking to start their export journey as well as supporting those looking to expand into new markets and countries.
