On Friday September 11, 2020, Gloucester Rugby’s Kingsholm Stadium will be hosting a Jobs Skills & Apprenticeships Lift Off Event aimed at bringing the country together and supporting people who are seeking employment opportunities.

The event will begin at 10:00 BST on the day, and has been organised by Gloucester’s Conservative MP, Richard Graham.

Graham said: "I'm organising a giant Gloucestershire Jobs, Skills and Apprenticeships Lift Off day at Kingsholm, in partnership with Gloucester Rugby, every MP in Gloucestershire and key headline sponsors on Friday September 11.

“It will be physical & digital and I hope that anyone leaving school, college or university; and wanting new skills or a new job; or interested in tips on CVs or interviews; worried about opportunities [BAME, disabilities or any other minority] or just interested in Gloucestershire's opportunities then please save the date."

Flexicare UK, a Gloucestershire-based care support provider, will be one organisation present with its own stand at the event.

Flexicare CEO Jeanette Phillips said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity to create employment for Gloucestershire’s 90,000 furloughed people. We are hoping to recruit up to 30 young people through the event, as well as a young person who we will bring in through the government’s new kick-start scheme.

“I feel this could be the start of exciting times locally and nationally if we all pull together.”

Julie Tegg, Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Training at Gloucestershire College, one of the event’s main sponsors, commented: "Gloucestershire College is delighted to be one of the lead sponsors of the Gloucestershire Jobs Skills and Apprenticeships Lift Off event.

“We’re proud to be working with employers across Gloucestershire and beyond to create apprenticeship and job opportunities. We are encouraging business to back local talent and get on board with the government’s Plan for Jobs.”

Tickets for the event must be pre-booked in order to attend. Additional information and the ticket booking function may be found here.
