Coronavirus update: UK deaths over 1,200, Prince Charles out of isolation

Prince Charles has left self-isolation, one week after testing positive for Covid-19, and total UK deaths have reached 1,408, with more than 20,000 cases.

Foreign secretary Dominic Raab gave the briefing at Downing Street today, announcing that the Foreign Office was working "intensively around the clock" to bring Britons abroad home.

He said the government would be working with "partner airlines" to bring citizens home, and said that it had already helped hundreds of thousands of British citizens to get home.

Elsewhere in the UK, restaurant chain Carluccio's and rent-to-own BrightHouse have closed their doors as a result of coronavirus.

In Europe, Spain has reported 812 deaths today, taking the national total above 7,000 in the country. The foreign minister for the country said, however, that the emergence of new cases seemed to be flattening.

And in the US, Donald Trump has announced there will be a "new, rapid test" released in the US this week, but he did not provide further details.
