Lancashire-based community interest company and business support provider, Community & Business Partners, is to host its latest North West HR Employers Forum event on July 13, 2022, at Samlesbury Hotel in Preston.

The North West HR Employers Forums are events that are supported by HR professionals who are consistently at the forefront of developing and delivering best practice in their respective fields.

The Forums take place biannually and feature presentations from representatives of award-winning national law firm Forbes Solicitors and other guest speakers who present on relevant HR and employment issues.

The events also offer those in attendance a chance to network with business owners and HR practitioners, building up their list of contacts.

The July 13 session will commence at 09:00 BST and is scheduled to conclude at 12:00 BST.

The opening half an hour will be set aside for light breakfast refreshments and a chance for attendees to network with each other, before the welcome and general introduction is delivered by Emma Swan, partner and head of commercial employment at Forbes Solicitors.

During her address, Swan will provide a summary of key employment law updates to attendees before handing over to Alexandra Hawksworth and Rebekah Heys, the curriculum manager and WBL training co-ordinator, respectively, at Burnley College.

Hawksworth and Heys will be sharing details of the support that the college can offer to local businesses that wish to recruit, upskill and develop their existing workforces.

Community & Business Partners’ very own operations director, Jaydee Davis, will then take the stage to outline a new programme of support that the community interest company is offering to local businesses.

The new package has been enabled by a £1,000,000 investment from Lancashire County Council as part of its Watchtower project. The investment project is targeted toward businesses in the advanced engineering and manufacturing [AEM] sector, focusing on stimulating economic recovery and growth following the Covid-19 pandemic. Watchtower aims to support businesses in the industry with innovation and diversification, as well as offering a skills support service to upskill individuals.

Another talk that will be delivered at the Forum will be a presentation by Team Academy’s Rachel Haslam, exploring how businesses can best attract and retain talent. The interactive session will inform onlookers about five key elements that businesses need to consider to enrich people and how leaders can foster trusting relationships through sharing successes, demonstrating their vulnerability as people and being an active presence within their businesses.

Following the opening presentations, there will be an ‘Ask the Expert’ Q&A session from 11:30 BST to 12:00 BST, where the speakers will be on hand to answer individual questions and queries.

Individuals interested in attending the North West HR Employers Forum on July 13, 2022, can find further information and book their place here.
