British Chambers of Commerce recognise Denroy Plastics as UK Business Heroes

Denroy Plastics has been recognised by the British Chambers of Commerce as UK Business Heroes for its continued work throughout the pandemic to help support the NHS by providing PPE to frontline workers and other key personnel.

Through the HeroShield initiative, Denroy Plastics helped design and develop tooling to produce the HeroShield face visors which are 100 per cent recyclable and supplied to the NHS free of charge.

Denroy was instrumental in supporting HeroShield in manufacturing PPE and eventually took over full production of the equipment, supplying over one million visors to the NHS.

Denroy Plastics commercial manager Gareth Deering commented: “We were proud to supply such a huge amount of the visors to our health service and to date we have manufactured and shipped 100,000 face shields free of charge or on a non-profit basis and are continuing to develop our range of protective equipment.”

This rapidly developing range of PPE being distributed by Denroy under its growing DenPro brand includes the Bubl mask, which is an ergonomically designed, transparent and sterilisable face mask with changeable filters. The mask is targeted toward the general public and is ideal for those with hearing impairments, since the transparency of the equipment allows for lip reading and other non-verbal communication.

The development of DenPro is also helping create employment opportunities in the Welsh city of Bangor during the pandemic, at a time when the economy is feeling the pinch.

Deering added: “We are so pleased that the Chamber of Commerce has recognised us in this way and we will continue in our endeavours to supply quality protective equipment to help reduce the spread of Covid-19.”
