Manufacturing firm ADEY, a specialist in household central heating system protection products, has entered a community partnership with Gloucestershire-based football club, Forest Green Rovers.
ADEY’s products are targeted not only toward central heating system protection, but also reducing carbon emissions and saving money on energy systems.
ADEY’s passion for having a positive impact on the environment certainly matches up with the Forest Green ethos, a club which under the ownership of green energy tycoon Dale Vince has been recognised as the greenest football club in the world by the sport’s world governing body, FIFA.
Under the new partnership announced in February, ADEY has begun supporting the FGR Community, which aims to motivate, inspire and educate through football in the county of Gloucestershire and beyond. Forest Green’s community arm works primarily with schools, community groups and vulnerable people to raise awareness of the impact of climate change, as well as other social issues such as mental health and loneliness.
ADEY is already at work with the club helping to deliver and support the FGR Community’s initiatives, be it through volunteering or promoting the message of how everyone can take action to reduce carbon emissions.
At the time the partnership was announced, ADEY CEO, Matthew Webber, commented: “This is a hugely exciting partnership for us and the whole team is looking forward to working with the club and getting involved as much as possible.
“There is a lot of synergy with ADEY and the work FGR Community is doing. Not only around sustainability and carbon reduction, but acknowledging the impact organisations can, and should, now be having on their communities and the people that live there.”
Forest Green Rovers’ head of community, Sarah Urquhart, said: “We are delighted that ADEY wish to partner with FGR Community. Their investment and support will make a significant difference in allowing us to extend our reach and sustain our programmes.
“In doing so we will be able to knock more doors, spend time talking and supporting local families, visit older residents and extend matchday invitations. We are really looking forward to working together”.
