Despite the ongoing challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, 2021 has seen QHi Group consolidate its success of the previous year.
Among the firm's 2021 highlights were the presentation of its 2020 Queen’s Award for Enterprise, as well as making major ripples in the American market with the awarding of the US patent for one of its products.
QHi Group were proudly named 2020 winners of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. However, the pandemic meant that the presentation ceremony had to be delayed until this year.
On August 31, 2021, QHi Group founder and chairman Ross Kennedy was presented with the award and Charter document signed by Her Majesty the Queen, by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire.
A beaming Kennedy commented: “This award is a significant recognition that when you combine exceptional product with exceptional people you can achieve a truly great result.
"I’m very fortunate to lead such a great dedicated team of people who consistently perform above and beyond ‘normal’ levels, so a big thank you must go to all our Exertherm ‘family’ of people around the world."
QHi Group’s Exetherm thermal monitoring systems for switchgear, Motor Control Center [MCC], and transformers are successfully deployed world-wide, providing Opex cost savings, increased uptime, and increased safety, and are recognised as the best-in-class technology solution.
Over 2021, Exetherm’s reputation has risen within the global market, after being granted the US patent for its Low Voltage [LV] MCC thermal monitoring solution back in June. The very same product, known in full as the 'Exertherm® 24x7 MCC Thermal Condition Monitoring Solution' was also declared winner of the 2021 Power Systems and Products Top Tier Product Award by American publication, Mission Critical Magazine.
Mission Critical Magazine's Top Tier Products Awards recognise manufacturing excellence in mission critical equipment that embraces safety, energy efficiency, and innovative solutions.
The awards are judged by a panel of third-party industry experts who volunteer their time to research the new technologies and share their findings with the magazine's readers.
According to one of the judges, what puts the Exetherm product above the rest, is that it provides a unique solution to monitor thermal conditions of MCC buckets and drawers and gives the end user real-time alarm information if there is any issue.
Additionally, because the Exertherm MCC monitoring design criteria rejected wireless sensors, due to the threat they pose from hacking, the solution was recognised for supporting reliability, performance, and cyber security requirements of mission-critical systems.
