Grant Palmer is the founder and managing director of Grant Palmer Ltd, a family-run bus operator which serves the communities of Bedfordshire. Their Priority is getting people to where they want or need to be. Family values have been integral to the company's operation for more than 20 years -indeed, in 2019, the company celebrated its 20th anniversary of providing commercial bus services to the Bedfordshire area and beyond. 

Career Overview

Grant Palmer founded the family business in 1999, and under his leadership the company has grown to run a fleet of 40 buses on a network of local bus services and bespoke contracts, run from its modern depot facility in Flitwick.

Grant oversees a team of 65 bus drivers, Six engineers and four cleaners who all contribute to the company’s friendly and dependable service. The business’ driver workforce is not solely comprised of already-qualified drivers, with Grant and his team having trained four local people as new drivers entering the sector for the first time.

A business leader passionate for developing talent through training, Grant has sought to roll out further training for his workforce and much investment has been made into improving working conditions. Grant is also a stickler for high standards of maintenance and safety, and the company’s in-house engineering team ensures that such standards are maintained as per the requirements of the Department for Transport.
