Headteacher

Candida Jarrott-Chase has previously held the role of headteacher at Godstone Primary and Nursery School, a one-form-entry foundation school in Surrey for pupils aged two to 11 years old, with the capacity for 230 pupils.

Career Overview

Candida first arrived at Godstone as head in 2015, after having spent three years as deputy headteacher at St Mary’s Junior School in Oxted. During her time at Godstone, she recruited her own committed team of staff and she took the school from one that was at risk of losing its “good” Ofsted status, to one which consolidated its standing and is only looking to improve.

She sought to establish a stronger character and culture within the school, which only improved pupil outcomes. One of the school’s most recent published Standard Assessment Tests (SATs 2019) data showed that the year 2 children achieved better in reading, writing and maths compared to national and local authority Key Stage 1 data.
