Career Overview
Phil set up and has been managing director of VSS since 2012.
With offices in Greater Manchester (Head Office), Merseyside, The West Midlands and London, and a team of highly qualified and skilled trainers and tutors located across England, VSS is able to support clients and learners from across the country.
They are experts in delivering Government funded pre-employment and workforce upskilling programmes and have the stated aim of being 'the best in class’and provider of choice for Learners and Employers alike.'
In June 2020, Phil appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the role it has played in his career to date.
Military Career
From 2000 onwards, Phil worked freelance in specialist security as he did during his army career, with overseas deployments including Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and the US. He ended his security career to move into business in 2006.
Logistics and opening a business
Phil remained with the company until 2010, when he moved into the property industry and established his own business, Juniper Properties and Lettings. He remains managing director of the business to date, and has balanced his management of the company with his role at VSS since 2012.
