Mashhuda Kazi is an executive leader who has been working within the NHS for over 7 years. Mashhuda has worked at number of NHS organisations ranging from commissioning, acute, mental health and voluntary sectors.

Mashhuda’s interest is mostly in changes and impact on the organisational culture due to aspects of leadership, corporate governance and subsequent decision making.

Mashhuda Kazi is an executive leader who has been working within the NHS for over 7 years. Mashhuda has worked at number of NHS organisations ranging from commissioning, acute, mental health and voluntary sectors.

Mashhuda immigrated to United Kingdom in 2002. Mashhuda holds interests in passion for healthcare, education, civil rights, and ethics. Mashhuda graduated in 2011 and she commenced her long-standing passion for making difference to patient lives. 

Career Overview

Mashhuda is currently working as a Director in an NHS organisation on a interim contract.  

Mashhuda has an extensive background in commissioning, having previously worked as a senior commissioning manager for NHS England for specialist commissioning. Mashhuda has also garnered invaluable experience from working in other NHS Trusts over the years across London, Surrey, Suffolk and Norwich region in a handful of management positions.

Mashhuda’s long-term ambition is secure a position of CEO within an NHS organisation and she is hoping to be a role-model and example for BAME individuals who wish to secure an executive position within NHS.

Mashhuda also volunteered in a position of a CEO for an interim period within a non-profit organisation to support them with their charity registration process, and devising further policies supporting legal compliance. The aim of the charity is to support patients with their sign-posting and involving them in the decision-making in their care in Covid-19 and long-term Covid. 

Mashhuda also held the position of BAME Chair at one of the previous NHS organisations where she advocated on behalf of BAME for a range of issues including under-representation at a senior level, lack of training and development, exclusion from the succession planning etc. 

Education

Mashhuda studied Biomedical Science at Kingston University London between 2007 and 2010, graduating with a BSc Degree. 

Mashhuda went on to complete an MSc at Birkbeck University of London, majoring in health and disease. Mashhuda’s research project explored the mutation of Superoxide Dismutase, its effects on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and pathological processes and treatment efficacy.

Mashhuda also holds a number of qualifications including project management and business improvement. 

Mashhuda is currently studying for an Executive MBA at alma mater, Kingston University London, alongside clinical work and executive operational and strategic work. She is also reading Fellow Chartered Institute Personal Development (CIPD) with subsequent fellowship in Chartered Management Institute (CMI). 

Mashhuda’s interest is mostly in changes and impact on the organisational culture due to aspects of leadership, corporate governance and subsequent decision making and would continue to read at the doctorate, DBA/PhD level. Mashhuda aspires to author articles, research, and books, in the future.
