Initially from a background in software engineering, micro electronics and databases, Barry’s first role came with My Business Ltd as a development team leader in 2001. He left the role after little more than a year in post to join Sage UK, initially as a senior software developer before being elevated to principal business analyst after just over a year with the company.

In 2007, Barry rose up the corporate ladder again within Sage UK when he was appointed business development manager, heading up the online delivery platform for the whole Sage group.  It was this experience which provided Barry which much of the business acumen he’d need to launch his own venture, JustAccounts, in 2010.

Balancing the launch of his own business with an R&D and chief security role with GCrypt in his company’s first year, JustAccounts became Barry’s sole priority in 2011. Today, the business works with service provider companies and accountants in practice to provide unique client facing and back-office integrated solutions to drive efficiency, improve client retention, scale and increase client satisfaction.

In November 2021, Barry appeared on a Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland podcast, discussing the importance of leadership and the impact it has had on his career to date.
